I love, love, love to recieve book store gift cards, so I give those so the recipients can pick out their own books. BTW, I loved Bird by Bird, and the Hunger Games series (even if Katniss was a bit challenging).
I give everyone I know books as presents. I am the mom who gives books to kids at b-day parties. Most recent gifts: the Toys Go Out trilogy, Chain Reaction, Where She Went, Shiver, Forbidden.
That Summer in Franklin, A John Irving book, On A Pale Horse by Piers Anthony, hmm, that's all I've given in the past few months.
