This is what I mean.
When I was a teen I despised it when shows included a set of these:
Now, these might be my favorite characters on Awkward:
I also hated anything paranormal, which meant I missed out on:
Now, I can't get enough:
And I had real beef with this one for being too perfect. (All the boys like me, I have a troubled past, I'm an artist, I have a beautiful singing voice - we get it Joey Potter!)
But these days I have no qualms towards these two and I'm pretty sure their entire existence (on the show) is to allude perfection:
Would you watch TV with your teen self?

I think I approach it the other way round. I used to watch more or less everything when I was younger, but not so much now. Things I feel like I've already seen I don't feel the need to see again. And there's a lot of stuff on tv that feels like I've already seen it.

The Funnily Enough
Buffy for the win then and now!
ReplyDeleteUmmm...unfortunately I didn't get to watch a whole lot of TV as a teen. I would go back and try and find more time for it though.
ReplyDeleteI completely missed out on Dawson's Creek...
I would totally be able to watch TV with my teenage self.
ReplyDeleteUh, I'll let you know in ten or twenty years. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't really get into Dawson's Creek either. And I loathed when Brenda and Brandon's parents got in the way on early 90210. And, well, you know how hopelessly addicted I am to Vampire Diaries.
ReplyDeleteOkay, wait, I don't think I answered your question...
I watched a heck of a lot of Friends! So I'm guessing I'm a lot older than you because Dawson's creek was after my time. But I haven't started Vampire Diaries yet. My friends swear I'll get addicted. Right now I love The New Girl.
ReplyDeleteI totally would watch TV with my teen self bc I watched everything and saw Heathers every day for almost a year.
