The book!

I'm excited to introduce my Fall 2014 debut from HarperTeen:

I still feel a bit like I'm dreaming and have been ever since I accepted this offer. Plus, Tuesdays are exciting on their own because of all the new releases, so to have this on top of so many good book birthdays was just amazing. (Fair warning: I may over-use the words amazing and lovely in this post.) But really there's nothing else to say except I've got an amazing agent and a lovely agency - and I am constantly astonished by what they get accomplished in such a short amount of time. It truly makes me feel as though 'publishing time' may not apply to them. ;) And extra kudos to my agent, Suzie, because so many decisions were being made around the time Hurricane Sandy chose to make her appearance, and Suzie took care of everything and we were able to pick up right where we left off as though half her city wasn't still underwater. She also gave invaluable advice when my head was spinning (the best kind of head spinning!).

It still never ceases to amaze me how awesome and supportive the writing community is during times like this. I don't imagine investment bankers get this excited for one another (er, nothing against investment bankers...maybe they throw confetti at each other via Twitter also). Friends and family have been incredible too – I’m so lucky to be surrounded by so many people who read and care about books (they’re called intellects, no?). :)

I'm SO excited to be working with HarperTeen! And I’m so happy to finally (officially!) be able to share this news!

  17. How awesome! My agent is about to take mine out on submission. It's a girl who channels Scarlett O'Hara to navigate a tricky move to a new, posh school. Your success gives me hope that maybe there's a market for a story like mine. Yay!
